Last Christmas, I got the chance to do this fun commission painting for D.J. Sean Alan’s Christmas gift. I haven’t worked in paste acrylics and canvas in awhile, so it was a great way to get back into it. The painting incorporates two of his loves- his cat Cleopatra and DJing. It’s always a pleasure doing paintings with meaning to the customers. Thanks for looking!
Going into the second month of 2012 (and less than ten months until the supposed end of the world), the general feeling of anticipation of ‘something’ that’s been hanging overhead and influencing what I’ve been putting out artistically. I don’t personally believe 2012 is going to be the end of the world; if anything, I’d like to hope that it’s going to be the beginning of something great, whether it’s a general push past belief in an ancient calendar prophecy or a lack of excuses to begin great work. Either way, I channeled those ideas into this. Nibiru is a term from Babylonian astrology for “crossing” or “point of transition”, especially of rivers that pseudo scientists have borrowed in regards to their Nibiru Collision Theory
Whether you believe it or not, it makes for good art.

Since I got my iPhone, my daily go-to app has been Instagram. I really like how immediate it is as far as sharing media and it gives me alot of opportunities to share work in progress shots, my daily grind stuff, and any other random thing I feel like. It’s also a great way to see how other artists and creatives produce their work and just another way to see great pics of other places around the planet. Find us on Instagram under fallingapartart
We’ve been listening to a lot of crazy, glitchy hip-hop while we’ve been grinding out new t-shirt, sticker, and print designs here at Camp FAA. Minnesota’s Mux Mool is a heavy hitter and this video (featuring some edits of Bruce Lee flicks) is mind blowing.
Be sure and pop into the Store and pick our latest run of limited edition stickers and shirts. OR buy a tee and get the stickers for FREE- it’s the deal of 2012. Check back soon for more news and thanks for stopping by!
Great, longer(almost fifteen minute) interview with Austin’s own Sloke One via BoyCottMag.com breaking down his graffiti influences and nationwide and international projects. Look out for something special coming soon!
It’s been a minute since we’ve done a Music Monday post. Technically, this isn’t a music video; it’s a video of Sloke One, Mez, and Slie killing it here in Austin,TX w/ Ratatat in the background with great filming from Zapatista Films. Next level stuff here.
